Dress Code
When first talking about how we wanted our wedding to feel, we kept coming back to Bilbo Baggin’s 111th birthday from The Lord of The Rings: cozy food and drink, revelry, and whimsy.
We want to create a feeling of escapism, and we want everyone to have a chance to embrace the unselfconscious fun of a renaissance faire with us.
We’ve listed some tips below and styles to avoid, but otherwise, we encourage you to have fun and find something that makes you feel pretty, handsome, or outside of gender entirely.
Color Palette
This color palette is not strict, but meant to serve as a jumping off point. We recommend looking for natural/earth colors and rich jewel tones. See what inspires you!
Primary Colors
Gold, Green, and Warm Browns
Secondary Colors
Soft Blues and Wine Reds
A Note On White...
Many renaissance faire looks incorporate a white chemise or shirt—rest assured, this is completely fine!
Inspiration
If you're not sure where to begin, we highly recommend pulling inspiration from existing fantasy media. Which costumes do you find the most fun? You can use this as a guide to get a sense of what styles and silhouettes appeal to you.
Ultimately, if your outfit wouldn’t look out of place in one of these franchises, it won’t look out of place at our wedding!

The Lord of the Rings

Game of Thrones

House of the Dragon

The Chronicles of Narnia

The Princess Bride

Ever After
Festival of Legends
If you're located in Eastern North Carolina, we highly recommend joining us at The Festival of Legends, our local faire held in Holy Springs, NC on April 25th-26th.
Tickets are available for individual purchase or weekend passes. We'll be attending both days and would absolutely love to see you there!

Things To Avoid

Modern Garb
We kindly ask you to please avoid any modern suits/dresses/pant suits.
Halloween Costumes
While the dress code is fantasy, we ask that guests please avoid “costumey” looks—e.g. cheap, reflective fabrics.
Off-Theme
Please avoid other "historical fantasy" genres, such as Regency/Bridgerton, Pirates, or Western.
